## Prepare your shoes for repair

A few small steps make the assessment in the workshop faster.

1. **Look at the damage** — See what's broken: a worn-down heel, a worn-through sole, an open seam or a stuck zip.
2. **Clean the shoes** — Wipe off heavy dirt — clean shoes are easier to assess and repair.
3. **Always bring both shoes** — Heels and soles are usually done as a pair, so you stand and walk level after the repair.
4. **Describe how you wear them** — Tell us how you use the shoes (daily, work, hiking) — it affects which sole or heel material makes sense.
5. **Come by in Strausberg** — Bring the shoes to our Strausberg location. We'll tell you what's possible, what it costs and when they'll be ready.

## What can be repaired — and what can't

Most leather and quality shoes repair well: new heels, a new sole, a closed seam, a replaced boot zip. Cheap, fully glued shoes without a stitchable welt are harder to repair — and often no longer worth it. We can tell at a glance what makes sense for your pair.

## The most common shoe repairs

What customers ask for most often.

- Renewing heels — replacing worn heel tips before the heel itself is damaged.
- Resoling — replacing worn-through soles with leather or rubber.
- Seam repair — closing open or torn seams.
- Boot zip — replacing a stuck or broken zip.
- Lining and heel counter — patching worn-through spots.
- Eyelets, hooks and lacing — replacing torn-out eyelets.

## Costs and turnaround

We offer shoe repair at our Strausberg location. We'll give you a price after a quick assessment — it depends on the material, the sole type and the damage, and usually runs into double figures.

- **Renewing heels:** Price after assessment. Usually a few working days.
- **Resoling:** Price after assessment. Depending on sole type (leather, rubber).
- **Seam repair:** Price after assessment. Fast when the seam is accessible.
- **Boot zip:** Price after assessment.

## When a repair is worth it

With good leather shoes a repair is almost always worth it: a new heel or sole costs a fraction of a new pair — and broken-in shoes fit better than any new ones. Favourite pieces and expensive boots are worth it too. Only with very cheap, glued shoes is buying new sometimes the more honest recommendation.

## Shoe repair in Strausberg

We offer shoe repair at our Strausberg location, Große Straße 63 — for Strausberg and the area east of Berlin, where there are only a few workshops. Bring both shoes along. Plain heel or seam work is often quick; a resole takes a few days.

## Frequently asked questions about shoe repair

### What does a shoe repair cost?

It depends on the material, the sole type and the damage, and usually runs into double figures. We'll give you a firm price after a quick assessment.

### How long does it take?

Plain heel or seam work often within a few working days; a resole can take a little longer. When you come in, we'll give you a firm pickup date.

### Which shoes are worth repairing?

Good leather shoes, broken-in favourites and expensive boots almost always. Very cheap, fully glued shoes often not.

### Do you also repair zips on boots?

Yes, we replace stuck or broken boot zips. We'll give you a price once we've seen them.

### Where do you offer shoe repair?

At our Strausberg location, Große Straße 63. The other workshops handle clothing alterations, but not shoe repair.

### Do I need to bring both shoes?

Yes, both please. Heels and soles are done as a pair, so you stand level and walk evenly afterwards.
